Beauty business
Since high school, I have been very interested in beauty products. This started with nail polish but quickly grew into semi-permanent makeup. Ever since I was 18 I have had eyelash extensions. I had to give this up because covid-19 had taken over the world and so I was no longer allowed to go for my eyelashes. I regretted this and since then I have been playing with the idea of starting my own beauty business. Although I was already doing an education where I learned to become self-employed I didn't start my business until 2023.
In April I finally started taking my course to become an eyelash stylist. Because my school is still the most important thing, I haven't fully set up my business yet. I did put my 1st set of eyelashes on my beautiful model, my mom. For her, I have already done a refill (filling) and she is very happy with the result here. She is super proud of me for following my passion and starting this.
What are my future goals for my business?
Short term: make a price list, create social media and logo
Longer term: create a website, bring in customers and develop a web application
As a student entrepreneur, it is very easy (and much cheaper than being self-employed) to start a business. What I do have to be careful of is not earning more than a certain amount because I may lose my scholarship and child allowance as a result. This business is also a good opportunity for me to learn about business and money management.
